    Flashing flame what do I do
    It is minus 9 degrees out. The thermostat has a flashing flame and the tempature in the house is dropping. What do I do?

    It is -5 outside and the heat pump fan is running but the thermostat has a flashing emergency light. Do I switch it over to emergency myself?

    From your. 5 questions -please don't overpost -you have a heatpump that is not producing. That is an issue with low ambient temps, heatpumps become inefficient . Heat strips will work but will raise your electric bill substantially. With the recent cold weather people will quickly find the shortcomings of a heatpump.The flashing flame or a red flash means the strips are on. Wear warm clothing.

    Yes, you can change it to emergency by yourself, if you are sure that it is not working in perfect condition and you need to make sure that nothing happens in bad way.
