Toilet tank keeps filling after the float has stopped
The toilet tank keeps filling with water after the float has stopped.
    Here's what happens

    1. flush toilet
    2. tank refills
    3. float comes up and the water stops coming out the black tube
    4. I can hear water and continue to see the water level rise (quite slowly)
But I can't see where the water is coming in?
    5. The water is to the top of the overflow and I think it is spilling over
    6. Sometimes I see a small trickle into the toilet bowl
    7. The float assembly was replaced 2 months ago
    8. I did have well troubles recently and had a lot of dirt in the water
Any suggestions on fixing this problem that doesn't involve a plumber
    Thanks

You probably have dirt in the float shutoff washer. Depending on your model, follow instructions to clear the debris. Do you have an arm and float or just a float?
