    Fraud under 5000
What could happen if someone was caught using a false address to get benefit for a fee months? Will the person collecting it be charged or the person letting them use their address be charged? Is it just a fine and repayment or jail time? It was only for a few months.

There would be more lies than false address to get government benefits. In most cases lying to these can be a felony with jail term no matter ow litle the benefit paid. The person who is allowing this will be part of the crime also.

Jail sentence could be possible for both

Thank you Frank. I was hoping you would be one of the ones to reply. What did you mean there would be more lies than the address. Do you know how long will pass before they might investigate.

Depending on what was done, things like unemployment is checked back for about 2 years. Food stamps and welfare is often edited or reviewed up to 4 years.
