Why is it that there is an electric current running through my water?
Really like to know more detail on your situation. How and where is this current being detected.
Why can be answered in that water is typically delivered in metal pipes, and metal pipes are usually used as grounding electrodes, or should be grounded. Could be the grounding is a problem, or there is a short in an appliance somewhere.
Current runs through the bathtub water, no other fixture in home.
How do you detect this current?
The home has no other water fixtures, such as sink, toilet, etc?
Yes the home has other fixtures but the only place where there is a noticeable electric current is the bath tub water. My question is, How come there is a electric current through my water, we can't even shower. When we touch the faucet there it is... :(
OK got it. There is a grounding problem with how the system is grounded, or there is a poor grounding connection with an appliance.
You will need to call in an electrician to track this fault down and make the necessary repair. I do not think this is anything a homeowner can do themselves.
I do not think the actual repair will be anything major, it may take some time to track down thou.
Thank you very much... we actually just spoke to an electrician on the phone... and Yes you are right. The electrician will be here in a day or two.
Thank you in you Quick responses.
I will let you know what the problem is once the electrician checks it out.
Thank You once again
Let us know what is found to cause your problem, and what was done to eliminate the electricity flow in your tub.
