Could be Braxton hicks contractions getting your body ready for labor, could be labor , could be that the weight and position of the baby is just uncomfortable. I would say this type of question though should be asked of your doctor or her nursing staff. Give them a call.

It also could be that you are feeling your cervix dilating. At 40.5 weeks, you should be heading to the hospital you are supposed to deliver at to get checked out.
