Speed required for 1 car to overtake second car in 654 feet
Car #1 and #2 are stopped at a red light. Car # 2 is 12 feet behind, stopped as well. Green light changes. Car #1 proceeds at 25 mph. How fast must Car #2 travel to overtake Car #1 in a space of 660 feet and finish 25 in front at the next stop light?

Strangely worded question, and incomplete as well:

    1. You haven't said how quickly the two cars accelerate - do we assume that when the light turns green each car reaches its final velocity instantaneously?

    2. Is the 660 feet measured from the starting point of the first car, or the second?

    3. How far down the road is the next traffic light?
