Ok my question is for some one who knows their stuff I have had the mirena iud for almost 3 years after my third child now. I can not feel the strings any more. And every one has said that they think I'm pregnant including my husband. I have gained like 20 lbs in like 2 months, I uber tired really moody my breast have grown two sizes and they hurt. And I think I am to but I don't know if you can get pregnant with the iud. I just got insurance and I'm waiting on the cards so the doc want see me until I get the card. And besides the other symptoms my face and back has broke out and I don't hardly ever get acne. I have also had nose bleeds quite frequently here lately. I have three boys I kind of want a girl but I don't want to put a baby in danger with having this birth control. Please some one help me .

No form of birth control is 100% effective, so yes, you can get pregnant using the Mirena iud.

Try a pregnancy test using first morning urine. That's really the only advice anyone can give you. Pregnancy can't be diagnosed online.

Pregnancy and the Mirena is a very dangerous combination. You will need to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

With that said, it is quite possible that your Mirena fell out since you can't feel the strings. However, only your doctor can tell you if that is the case.
