I want to install a drain for a water softener in my garage. Ideally, I would like to tie this into a permanent waste pipe to a nearby sink (or shower).

I have outlined in the link below my proposed layout. Is there any issues with it? Specifically, will the vent for the existing fixture be adequate for this drain? I would like to install the tee above the existing waste line and install a trap in the line as shown.

Is there anything I am missing?

Replace the 90 with a San-Tee and put an AAV on top of the tee and you should be good to go.

You might want to check your local codes before connecting a water softener drain to a public sewer system. In my area it's against code to connect the outflow of, storm drains/rain water runoff, AC condensate lines, sump pumps, water softener discharge or anything else besides gray water or sewerage to a public sewer system. The reason being that it puts a load on the processing plant that's unacceptable and raises the cost of processing sewage. Good luck, Tom
