    Sd card slot on laptop
The SD card slot in my hp laptop has stopped working. The little blue light next to the slot stays on all the time but doesn't read my sd card. I've tried updating the drivers but it didn't fix it. I checked the Device Manager and noticed that there's several items with a little yellow exclamation point next to it. This is no doubt the root of the problem. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Here's the device manager files with exclamation points:

    Under:
    IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers:

    - ! Ricoh Memory Stick Controller
    - ! Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller
    - ! Ricoh xD-Picture Card Controller

    Under:
    IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers

    - ! RICOH OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller

    Under:
    SD host adapters

    - ! SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

    Hope this works...

Go to device manager and Uninstall all those listed devices. When you uninstall a message will appear, make sure you select "Delete the Driver Software for this device" when you uninstall.
Restart and install the drivers again.

Still not working, run the system file checker.
Open the "Run Dialogue" with administrative rights.
Click Start once and type "run". You should see run right at the top. Right click on it and click "Run as Administrator"

In the black box type, sfc /scannow

    Hope this helps

Thanks. I tried your suggestion but it still doesn't work. After the computer restarts and reinstalls the drivers, this is what I get...

"Device driver software was not successfully installed. Please consult your device manufacturer for assistance in installing this device".
-Ricoh Memory Stick Controller = Ready to use.
-SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller = Failed
-Ricoh OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller = Failed
-Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller = Ready to use
-Ricoh xD-picture card Controller= Ready to use

Not sure what "system file checker" is...
