    5hp Lawnmaster mower
Can anyone help me with this, my mower has hit something in long grass, and now when I mow the lawn it goes for a bit then stops. It does not run at full revs anymore and stalls in long grass and stops once it gets hot.

Did you tip the mower up to clear what you hit or to clean out grass? Sometimess in the early spring we have to tip mowers and when that happens oil can get into air filter and not let the engine rev up. Remove air filter and run for diagnostics.

More commonly when an object is hit with a walk behind the flywheel key is sheared, this is the part that keeps the ignition in time with the piston. If it does shear they almost never restart but could cause the scenario mentioned.

Thank you for your reply. It was my step dad that was mowing at the time. So does that mean I have to take the flywheel off and see if the keyways are broken then.and if so replace them and sit the flywheel back in the right position

The flywheel has one key and it will only go in one way, I would check the air filter first.
