    Shower neck
Will a threaded 1/2 gate or ball valve fit on a shower neck, I have been trying to isolate the leaky valve and it is an apartment I am staying in. Smaller valves that are supplied online just leak, I have tried twice and they are not seating properly inside. I used to be a journeyman plumber in the past and I know this is not the ideal way to fix it but, like I said its not my place and these fake Chinese Jamco valves don't have parts available that don't fail time and time again.

Yes, a 1/2" ball valve or a 1/2" brass gas cock should work fine here... just use plenty of Teflon tape.

I am betting its 5/8s if my memory serves me right. I guess I can use one of the failed valves as the nipple on the other side. They only leak out of the middle. Made in Taiwan. I asked for an RMA they didn't even bother they just gave me my money back.

All shower arms are 1/2" IPS...and I am correct when I tell you that a 1/2" threaded ball valve or gas cock will work here...;)

I was referring to copper pipe size. If you go into Home Depot and say IPS they would look at you funny. Been awhile since I have been able to step into a real supply house.

But it says 1/2 IPS is 3/4's copper. There goes my memory again. Well 1993 was my Journeymans test. And 2000 was when I hung up my pipe wrench.
