If you can get the court that awarded you support to issue the lien, yes. You can't just do it on your own. But a lien just means he can't sell the house until the lien is satisfied. Generally, at the closing a check is issued to the lienholder.

You personally can not. The court can though. They don't generally go that route unless it is sufficiently behind. Talk with the child support office that holds the order and see what they can help you do. What I have seen in Indiana is the judge will first order a court date to see why the payments are behind. Bank accounts can also have a lien put on them but again not generally for just a couple missed payments. I have no idea how many payments have been missed in your case and I'm not asking. So, all that being said, I go back to my original statement about working with the child support office that holds the order.
