    Eagle brand chocolate condensed milk
Is Eagle Brand Chocolate Condensed Milk still being produced?

I don't think it ever was, because what would be the point? It was originally produced as condensed milk during the war to fill a specific purpose for people who couldn't get whole milk and condensed milk filled the benefits for babies.

    Chocolate syrup can be added.

I purchased Choc condensed milk I believe in Virginia.. I have since moved to GA. Was sorting recipes and found one using Choc condensed milk. - couldn't find it on the shelves in GA and wanted to know if the product was still being produced. Guess not. So I tossed the recipe. (('m moving back to Virginia.)

I've got a recipe to make eagle brand milk. So I don't buy it anymore although chocolate flavour does sound tasty.

Tickle, I guess the point is that condensed chocolate milk is ready to go, needs no mixing and can sit, as is, on the shelf for a year. The Indonesians certainly have many uses for the product. (And they do know how to cook!)
I never did work out why The Spice Islanders always used South American chile in almost every food. Ironic. I even got chile flavoured strawberry jam (my mistake) with breakfast toast. Yet they have all those other traditional spices to choose from.
However, my best memory of 'susu coklat' is the 'alpokat' milkshakes in Medan. The milk is drizzled inside the cold glass, in artistic swirls. And cold avocado and icecream shake is added. A meal in itself for travelers.

Good information but this thread is five years old.
