You just can't blast 120 volts through the air. What if it hits someone? Think about lightning, would you want it to hit you?

Ok.. then we can use safe medium we transfer to electricity other end.like micro waves.radio waves

In fact power can be transmitted wirelessly, using radio waves, microwaves, lasers, etc. But it's not very efficient for commercial applications (transmitting and receiving power in the microwave band requires antennas on the order of 1KM across), and suffers from interference from water vapor in the air, which tends to absorb microwave energy - think of what happens to water in your microwave oven.

As ebaines noted, certain frequencies and power can be transmitted, Radar, sonar, telephone etc. I was referring to commercial high current , high voltage power.

Yes sir.. I noted your answer.. in case this transmission is done with minimum distance is it harmful for human being?

Thank you sir i got it..

High power and high voltage or high current... instead of this high level why should not we produce efficient and powerful transmitting signal with harmful free.. or eco friendly. Without any disturbance to living
