    Mixed marriage
I am British I have fallen for a failed asylum seeker from lahore he suggests we get married in his country... how would this work? Is it a legal marriage?

    Any advice would be good
    Thanks

Why wouldn't it be legal if you were to marry in Lahore? Of course it would be legal. If you go through the proper legal channels to get married and there are no obstacles, you can marry in any country you wish.

Is the actual question more along the line: Would he be able to live with you in the UK?

If it is, that would be a question better put to the Immigration Department in your country. Since we do not know why he was not granted asylum, you need to find out if they will allow him to live with you in the UK and what you need to do to make that happen. Immigration can give you the answer to that. You might marry him only to find out that the only way you can live together is for you to move to Lahore. If you both don't mind living there and you are allowed to live with him there, then, get married in Lahore and have a wonderful and happy life together there.

    Mmm tricky situation...
If you get married in his country, are you sure you will come back to the UK?
Could he come back and work in the UK?
    Lots of things to consider.

Is this a scam? Have you thought of that - that he is perpetrating something illegal and you are the target? To get him into the UK? Once you marry him?

I do not mean to be negative and throw water on your love for him, but that is just what I would ask myself, if in the same position.

99% of the time, these sort of marriages are all scam so that the person can live legally in a country he is normally illegal.
