I recently shaved down there and had sex the following day. Now I've been with the same sex partner for 2 years who happens to be my girlfriend. After having sex I saw an ingrown hair that started to become painful so I plucked it and a few others(probably the wrong thing to do ). I figured they had become ingrown from having sex right after shaving. Now its like the bumps spread and became more painful. Slightly itchy and the glands in my groin are extremely swollen and sensitive.

Could be a bacterial infection such as cellulitus, which is something that needs treatment ASAP. At least 3 of us here have had it, and it spreads rapidly. You could end up in the hospital, and might at this stage, so go to the ER. Even if you are prescribed an oral antibiotic, keep careful attention to cleanliness and spreading rash, because oral antibiotics didn't work on me. Mine started at a bug bite behind one knee.
