LED lights - battery to DC voltage
I have 5 sets of L E D icicle lights. Each set is intended to be ran from (4) "D" cell batteries. Each string has 5 icicles, and the battery box says - DC 6.0v---. I believe the batteries are in series, a black wire from the switch starts the circuit and the power goes through each battery until it ends with a white wire going to the switch. I would like to connect all 5 sets, ommit 4 of the switches and be able to plug them into an outlet. Is this possible with a transformer or any other method?

    Thank you

It would be possible to wire the 5 sets in parallel and drive them all with a 6 volt DC power adapter, which you should be able to find at Radio Shack. Is there anhy info on the packaging as to power or current requirenments? If not, I would guess that current draw is probably around 50 mA per string - so when you get the power adapter make sure it's capable of delivering at least 250 mA so it can power all five sets of lights. Be aware that LEDs are sensitive to polarity - if you get plus and minus reversed they won't work.
