Lots of practice, baby. Record your own voice. Sing and listen until you're satisfied with how you sound. Try your own style, make some kind of a signature or accent. You know, how you say a certain common word all the time. Do you sing me as /meh/ or /mee/? Can't as /keynt/ or /kant/? The more notes you can belt, the better. It makes you a flexible singer if you can sing high and low pitches. Try singing while playing an instrument. If you don't have a recorder, you should get one. Cupped listening might not be enough.
