Basically found out the last day I'm 6/7 weeks pregnant I've qualified as a nurse and have a full time job my boyfriend works full time too together we earn around 3000 a month the only problem is my mum will probably disown me she is very traditional in her views and worries about keeping up appearances hence the reason why I'm terrified to tell her. Any advice on how I can break the news? As I plan on keeping my baby

Are you and your boyfriend planning to marry -- so could you use this as an argument in your favor ("the cart got a bit ahead of the horse")? You ARE 22 and an adult. Do you still live at home or with your boyfriend? If it's the latter, certainly your mum must know that these things happen. And this will be her grandchild whom she will love and cherish.

If you're living on your own, hopefully with the father, Mom will relent when the baby is put in her arms. If the father is not around by then, she'll (justifiably in my opinion) likely put out a hit on him.

You are an adult. Your mom is entitled to her feelings and so are you. You can tell her, stand by your decision and hope she comes around. If you live with her and you fear she is going to kick you out, have a discussion with your boyfriend prior so you have a back up and you guys can decided to start living together if that is the case.

You decided to maintain the pregnancy. She can't force you to terminate the pregnancy. Sine you made your decision you need to stand by it. Telling your mom, "Can we talk about something?" and you can say "I know this is sudden and unplanned but my doctor confirmed that I am pregnant." If she is old-fashion about her ways when it comes to marriage than she is not pro-abortion. There is nothing wrong when it comes to a pregnant woman and appearance. Good luck

Yeah I actually lived with him but moved back home a few weeks ago to get some headspace from the relationship as we were in a rocky place but things are better now. So I was planning on letting the family have a good Christmas tell them after then move back out and hope they accept things
