I have a 220 3 phase compressor and I want to wire it 220 single phase
How do I wire a 3 phase motor on my air compressor to run on220 single phase (2x 120V normally used from a dryer plug) I have 120v on 2 wires and ground from main. I have 3 phase wires, ground and neutral coming from the motor. Will it work and if so how do I wire it up?

Not do-able unless you want to burn up the motor.

A three phase motor is looking for input on all three phase legs (spaced 120 degrees apart). Even the loss of a single phase will cause the motor to overheat and burn up.

You need a rotary phase converter. Might be cheaper to buy a used 240 single phase motor. Check Northern Tool or Harbor Freight for a new motor.
