Black soot on everything in my house, I have a central heat and a/c unit. Where could it be coming from? I don't have a fireplace.

Incomplete combustion from the heater, particularly with a cracked heat exchanger. This can be a serious situation with possible carbon monoxide. Have someone look into it as soon as possible.

Do you see soot on your hot water tank? Do you burn candles?
