Heard a country song, male singer, a few years back (maybe 3-5) sing a song that had the chorus lyric

"it was a bad, bad morning, but a pretty good afternoon"

... or something very close to that. Cute song about how all hell broke loose in the AM, but then his girl made up for it by dragging him into the bedroom.

I have absolutely nothing else to go on. Yahoo'd and lyric searched my tail off. Was a cute song and my wife wants to hear it again.

I'm thinking this has to be "It's Been A Great Afternoon" by Merle Haggard, "The Hag". The lyrics are as follows:
