When I install a new outlet from a light switch that only 2 wires to it and has a dim
When I install a new outlet from a light switch that only 2 wires to it and has a dimmer switch, will anything I plug into that outlet be also "dimmed" or receive less than full power? Also, I assume the outlet will only be live when the switch is on?

If that means you only have 2 wires in the switch box, you cannot connect an outlet to those wires. They are both "hots" and you have no neutral.

Ok thanks for that info. I was thinking that the outlet would work only if the switch was turned on.

Be vary careful! This is why you test everything and make sure of what you have before you do anything. You can really mess up things if you plug them into what you wired.

Thanks. I'll go a different route.
