    Health concern
    Hi Doctor,

I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with fluid collection in the douglas pouch.. It first occurred twice about two yeas ago and I was given antibiotics on two separate occasions .
In August this year it recurred & I had back pains which was why I went to the doctor in the first place.. The doctor did a vaginal scan and found this fluid out.. She did give my antibiotics and another similar scan two weeks after, confirmed that the fluid was gone.. It recurred in November and I was given probiotics for two months and vagilact.. I still have back pains though and am really worried.. please help me

If you are having recurring problems with infection in the pouch, rather than just the normal waxing and waning of fluid collection there, you should see your doctor again.
You may need a culdotomy, a needle removal of some fluid for analysis, or the pouch may have herniated.

Many women need to do exercises to keep organs from sagging to the bottom of the abdomen, and even out the vagina. You may find that doing pelvic tilts, yoga, or joining a gym where you can explain your needs and the trainers will help you with a plan, will help in general. Keep your diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables, and low in red meats and refined flours and sugars.
