I think the movie was set during the renaissance, at the very least no later than the 1800s. I'm also fairly sure that it's a foreign film, I remember subtitles being shown. The movie was probably filmed in the 1990s, no later than 2004. The movie was in color.

The only scene I can remember is one where there is a young woman sitting on a chair outside at night. I think she was in a kind of courtyard or a plaza area. She is with a man and he is romancing her and I think they ultimately make love. I think they were both from a poorer/working class. They might have been Romani, but I'm not so sure on that. They were definitely not wearing fancy clothes of any sort. They were potentially Italian (olive skinned/dark hair), although I'm not sure about that either. They were definitely somewhere in Europe.

I can't remember any other details, not the actors, director, or other movie scenes.
