I cut myself shaving in my ankle, groin and the shaver passed over a white head pimple but did not damage it. My question is can I get necortizzing fasciitis? It has been about 42 hours now with no swelling, no fever, no redness or really anything out of the ordinary except Yesterday I went shopping and carried a few things on my left arm not very heavy but gave slight discomfort. I have had issues with my left arm before. It has been hurting all day since I woke up from 11am to 10pm now. No changes in appearance just tingling,a strain sore feeling and sometimes twitches and shoulder blades too.I have felt this pain before when I strained my arm before. Could I have contracted the flesh eating bacteria or am I being too paranoid? Please help I can't afford to go the emergency room. I have high anxiety when a thought like this pops into my head. This arm pain happened today, but It has happened before when I strained it. Could I be thinking too much of it?

Sure it's possible that you COULD have it but from the sounds of what you're saying, it's not really likely.

Necrotizing Fasciitis (Flesh-Eating Bacteria)-Symptoms

Whenever you cut yourself, or get a big huge bug bite where you can see a hole, WASH it with soap and water, and keep it clean, and maybe put a bit of anti-bacterial cream on it and a band aid.
I didn't, and I got cellulitis, which is much more common but still serious, and two of us on this site ended up in the hospital. I had a small area of necrosis around the spot (behind my knee) while the rest of my entire leg was a bright red rash. If it's caught early enough, oral antibiotics are enough; if not, you need a drip IV. The dead spot (turned black) fell off and new skin formed normally within about 10 days.

Bottom line: your skin is a very important first line of defense against the bacteria that are all over your body regardless of how clean you are, just waiting to get in. Places like the mouth have additional lines of defense, such as saliva.
