My step dad passed away yesterday. My step dad raised me from when I was a little girl. We have always been close. My step sister who hasn't had much of a relationship with him is the excutor of his will. My question is do I have any legal rights to hear what the will said? I want to make sure my dads wishes are carried out and unfortunately my step sister isn't too trust worthy.

A "reading of the will" is (as far as I know) an entirely fictional ritual found exclusively on TV and in the movies. In real life, a application is made to a court to "probate" a will. Anyone may ask the clerk of court to examine the probate file (including the will; it should be in there). It's a public record.

No, if your step-sister is appointed personal representative by the court and pursuant to the will, decision-making is not generally up to you. You can, however, contest the will, object to her appointment, or (in many states) ask for supervised administration (all decisions to be made by the court after you and other interested persons are notified).

The will needs to be probated. Once probated it becomes a matter of public record so you can review it.
