    Lights are not working
I have an older Hampton Bay fan unit that had 4 lights on it. It started to act up and the lights would flash on and off rapidly. Finally, they just stopped working, however, the fan has worked fine. I replaced this unit with a new fan unit; connected the wires and the fan works but the lights still do not work. There is only two wires coming from the ceiling, black and white. I hooked up the white and blue wire from the fan to the white wire from the ceiling (blue wire is for lights). And the black wires together. No lights but fan. How is this possible on two separate units? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Connect the white to the white. Connect the black and the blue wires to the black wire from the ceiling.
Wall switch will have to be on for either the fan or the light to work. Use pull chains to turn on and off.
