Can children of a deceased father claim on his estate
Can I claim on my absentee father's estate now as I recently found out that he died 23 years ago. I was 15 years old when he left and am now 64 and my sister was 5 when he left and is now 55 years old. Neither myself or my sister of my mother had heard from him or saw him since he left us in 1965.

Most likely probate has been closed and its too late to do anything.

I would agree, you may check terms of will and see if you are listed but in most cases, all probate will be over and closed.
