Can anyone help me find the name of a fantasy book/series
    Hi guys

I was read a book in school, more than 20 years ago by our teacher and I only remember one or two sessions(it was being read to the other class in our year so we were there because our teacher was off sick) so I never caught the name of the book or how it began

Ill describe what I remember, any help in finding it would be greatly appreciated

Oh and please excuse my bad grammar, I am still fighting dyslexia

There were a number of protagonists, 2 of them young brother and sister, as well as others who were older and more learned in the lore of the land

They had, or were searching for gemstones that the girl nicknamed Tears or a Tear due to it being shaped like a tear(an eye leak, not a rip)

I remember them crawling through a tunnel in which the boy was too tall to go around a bend and had to be twisted into another position to continue and the only other bit I remember is that they were in a house or hut and a witch(I think) was outside taunting them, she couldn't enter due to the permission law most people associate with modern vampire lore and so was saying that when it went dark another race - possibly golems - would come out, who didn't need permission to enter and would forcibly enter and take the tear

    That is all I remember

I would really like to read these books again as they seemed quite fun and I really do enjoy reading fantasy, I would also like to revisit my youth ><

Thanks in advance for any answers

    Try this:
The Weirdstone of Brisingamen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    (here's a snippet of info... )
....The novel, set in and around Macclesfield and Alderley Edge in Cheshire, tells the story of two children, Colin and Susan, who are staying with some old friends of their mother while their parents are overseas. Susan possesses a small tear-shaped jewel held in a bracelet: unknown to her, this is the weirdstone of the title. Its nature is revealed when the children are hunted by the minions of the dark spirit Nastrond who, centuries before, had been defeated and banished by a powerful king. ....
... The children return to Fundindelve but Cadellin is nowhere to be found, so they set out to reclaim the stone on their own. They are successful but become lost in a labyrinth of mine-shafts and caverns. ...
