    Vent pipe for basement bathroom
I have a concern on how to proper ally vent my Maine drain for my toilet. I have my main pipe I am going to tape into which is horizontal. I am concerned with placement of the vent because I don't want fumes to be produced while the drain pipe is empty. Would any Y pipe work?

Here is a typical drainage rough in for a bathroom. Your toilet will be wet vented by the lavatory roof vent. Does this answer your question? If not, click on back with more details. If local code allows you may vent your bathroom with a AAV.(automatic Air Vent) instead of a roof vent, Good luck, Tom
