I have a 4/0 awg al type use 2 600 v xlpe phasea 2/0 neutral?? How many amps will it carry 165 feet and can I put it underground? :confused:

Any wire or cable marked "USE" is rated for direct burial.

Maximum recommended voltage drop of a feeder is 3%. Assuming 240 volts supply, the max Vd is 7.2 volts.

Assuming a full load of 200 amps, at 165 feet, at 240 volts, the Vd will be 6.6 volts, so a full 200 amps is available.

If any large motors or welders are used, the voltage drop will be greater, so the full ampacity will be reduced.
