My oil furnace won't start, when I press the reset button I can hear a humming sound but nothing starts. Could the issue be a dead motor?

Could be the motor or fuel pump. With the power turned off, remove the motor & fan. There is a plastic coupling between the pump & motor. If it came off the pump when you removed the motor, reinstall it & turn clockwise. If the pump shaft turns easily, the problem is probably the motor. If the pump shaft is difficult or impossible to turn, it's likely a bad pump.
