Just had a pre-op EKG done and it says:

Sinus rhythm
Right axis deviation
Moderate mid- and Left precordial and High-lateral repolarization disturbance
Consider ischemia, LV overloand and/or digitalis
Negative T in I aVL V4 V5 V6
With small negative T in V3
Abnormal ECG

I can define the terms individually, but what does it all mean?

Personally these are questions you should have asked your doctor to explain before you left after the test... they can relate it better to your specific medical history than anyone online..

I couldn't agree more... but since it was at the surgical center, and not at the docs office... and my husband didn't ask... I thought I would try to be industrious and figure it out myself.

If you have some patience perhaps someone with that specific knowledge can provide a better insight. Assuming cdads link doesn't provide sufficient information.

While I have some cardiac background, this is beyond my scope of practice. It does appear that there is an idea that he may have had a mild heart attack in the past by the mention of ischemia.

This really needs to be reviewed with a cardiologist. There is no person on this site that has the proper background to read these results. Any further information you get here could be dangerous to your husband's health.

I want to add that Cdad's link is a good start as it is from the National Institute of Health. A reputable site. However, it should not replace an interpretation by a doctor, preferably a cardiologist in your husband's case.

I second that. It by no means replaces a doctor or cardiologist. With it you can gain some insight into what the lines and terms mean so when you go to see them you can be prepared to ask informed questions. In cases like what your husband is going through it is very important for him to learn as much as he can and to educate himself on his condition. Most health related problems have a much better outcome when you partner with your doctor. There is no such thing as a stupid question when you have a concern.
