    After automobile accident
He's over 80 but drives daily. Someone wanted to make a green light so he came from behind, around the right side but then jammed on his brakes. My neighbor could not stop in time and ran into him. It was nighttime. My neighbor was taken by ambulance due to bleeding. They kept him overnight... cat scan, observation and I
Picked him up. Took him to an eye doctor from hospital. He has hearing loss
So I called his ins co They got him a claim # but no one knows where the car is.
The police didn't give him a paper. Ins says he has to read other persons version of the accident. My neighbor who lives on SS no longer has a car.
Is he going to be libel for medical and car storage. He says his car is totaled but
Doesn't know. Until we find the right police pct. We won't know where the car is.
    CAlled 311, they don't know.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I believe your saying that he was rear ended or hit from behind? What exactly happened? Also by calling the police they have a list of companies they they use. They can tell you the company names and you can call around to find out exactly who has the car.

Thank you for your informative and quick reply. He rear ended the guy who came around from the right to make the light but then I guess he saw he couldn't.
I didn't get through to the pct yet... I have the name of two of them but when I do
I'll ask about the car. Thank you again.

This is where the police report is going to come into play. In most cases rear ending someone shows that traffic laws were not followed. The person who did the rearending is normally placed at fault. Mostly its going to be up to your local jurisdiction as to who is at fault and it may turn into a civil suit. Be very careful with what is said from here on out.
