    Red velvet cake during pregnancy
I am 38 weeks and 4 days and I ate red velvet cake today. Funny thing is I heard a myth of if you eat red velvet cake you will go into labor. I mean I am having a little pain but I just want to know if the myth have been proved true.

There is no scietific evidence that Red Velvet cake causes labor. If you do go into labor today, you might want to blame the cake, but that's not the real reason. What science has proven is that too much food dye can be harmful, especially to a growing fetus. The red in Red Velvet is caused by using a large amount of red food dye. Now, too much doesn't mean you can't have a slice of Red Velvet once in a while, but just don't overdo it.
