Hardly any hot water from 21V40-7 water heater
I have a 40 gal. gas water heater 21V40-7 that was installed in the 90's. It has never been flushed and I live in St. Louis where the water produced lots of water scaly stuff. In the past 6 months I barely get enough hot water to fill a tub. Will flushing the tank fix this or will I need to do something else to get the scale out? Should the water heater just be replaced at this point? I have heard that a gas water heater should last a really long time.

Why don't you flush it and see?
