    Physics problem
    A particle of mass m=2kg moves in simple harmonic motion according to

    x(t)=2cos(50t) where x is in meters and t is in seconds. Its total energy in Joules is:10253

    a. 5000

    b. 9000

    c. 10000

    d. 80222

    e. 2032012

    The energy of a sping-mass system is the sum of kinetic energy plus potential energy, whuihc is constant for any point on its path:

    E = (1/2)mv^2 + (1/2)kx^2

    I suggest that you calculate the velocity at x=0, which is when PE=0, and from that the energy of the system. Post back with your solution and we'll check it for you.
