I have a 2002 Passat that won't crank on cold mornings - does anyone know why or how to fix this?

Remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Also, clean the battery terminals and cable connections. The odds are that you need a new battery, where you want the auto parts store to charge it prior to installation.
