I had taken a pregancy test one line was purple and the other was faint but a little bit bigger the the purple line am I pregnant?

For the best results, you're supposed to wait two weeks after a missed period to take a test, and then take it with first morning's urine (NOT at lunchtime). Your busy (and maybe hopeful?) mind could be working overtime to make you imagine you are pregnant. Wait two more weeks -- use FIRST urine of the day.

Different test have different indications of positive or negative. Without knowing what test it was, we can't know what the indication means.

As Wondergirl said, you have to take the test according to the instructions on the box if you want accurate results.
