So, I wanted to install a motion detecting light switch in my wash room.

I shut off the power and took off the old light switch. When I was ready to install the new switch I noticed there was no ground. Since I didn't know if the box was grounded, I chose not to install the new switch.

I hooked up the old switch and turned the power back on... Now the lights won't turn on!

What did I do? Is the switch bad?

Any help appreciated.

1) Yes, bad switch, try a new one...
2) it's wired wrong... are you sure you put it back correctly? Did you check to be sure the power was turned back on?
