Can someone help me name a sword and sorcery movie please?
Hi guys I'm new as in this minute new.

When I was very young, talking could be 20 years ago I watched a film with my good old dad about pair of brothers(i believe, or half brothers) one brother was the bad guy and had a white eye, I can't remember why, the other brother was the good guy.

The only thing I can really remember is that the good guy stabbed the brother with a sword hilt the bad guy had broken to gain the upper hand.

I think it was from a prone position and during what the bad guy believed was the killing stroke.

I think the bag guy had blonde hair and a horned helm, for some reason I remember his name being Paul but that's my name so I could just be imposing memory.

It sounds very similar to hawk the slayer but I just watched a video on YouTube and I don't think it's the same movie, I'm going to watch another vid to see if I'm wrong.

I think I remember my dad saying the bad guys eye was turned upwards due to an attack by an eagle or a crow or somehting.

If anybody could help me id be really grateful, I'm on a mission to watch all the films that bring back my memories of bonding with my father mostly bond movies but this and another movie I will post a separate post for that one

    Try this one:

    The Vikings (1958)
starring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh
    IMDb synopsis:
In the Middle Ages, Viking warriors continue to raid the English coast. In one such raid the Viking leader Ragnar kills the English king and forces himself on the Queen. With the King dead, his brother takes the thrown but unknown to anyone but a trusted servant, the Queen is now with child. In order to protect the boy, he is sent away to be raised in safety away from the new King. Twenty years later, the Vikings are still raiding England, and they now have an Englishman, Egbert, making maps of the English coast for them. Ragnar has a son, Einar, a lusty warrior who takes what he wants when he wants it. They also have a slave, Eric, taken prisoner as an infant. Egbert realizes from a necklace Eric wears that he is the son of the Queen and is Einar's half-brother. When they kidnap Morgana, a Welsh beauty and the English King's betrothed, the stage is set for an inevitable clash between the half-brothers and with the reigning English King.

If you look at the cover art, you'll note Douglas' white eye.

    You're welcome!

I recall seeing this at the drive-in theater with my family. It definitely made quite an impression, as I've always been afraid of eye injuries, even as a little girl. So, the bird blinding his eye was very creepy!

If I recall correctly, there's a scene in which they run the oars. I think I remember a "behind the screnes" short in which Kirk Douglas was the only person who could run all the way around. Even the stunt men would fail!
