I have a glacier bay widespread bathroom faucet that is leaking at the center clip. The clip is tight, but when I turn on the water it leaks from the fitting. p.s. this is a brand new faucet!

I purchased a new widespread glacier bay bath faucet. The fitting leaks around the neck when I turn the water supply on. The fitting is pushed all the way up and the clip is in place. What should I be doing to fix this?
