So my lamp has been turning on by itself. its not like its every single night, just sometimes. The first time it happened I just thought I forgot to turn it off, me being a clumsy person. But besides that point this is the third time it has happened and its freaking me out. It only turns on sometime after I go to bed. I suggested the theory of it being... a ghost or something.. but Idk id rather not think like that. Can I have a realistic, reasonable explanation for this :) ?

Sure any electrical appliance can malfunction, the switch could be going bad and cause this to happen. I'd change the switch. Good luck

It is probably my dead great aunt Imogene. We called her Aunt GiGi. She used to always turn on lamps and never turn them off. She just died last year at 96 so if it is her I will ask her to stop.
