As of 12 noon today (PST) I am being served a 5 day pay up or quit notice. I am 58 years old and on a short term disability due to being hospitalized on October 3. I currently have a disability claim with Sedgewick and will have a final answer on Friday October 25. I have kept the manager up dated on all that is going on. I used up all my savings to keep my apartment. Can I fight this notice? My savings is gone, I have no where to go and I have not been able to get any type of emergency help.I have been here over 2 years. I Live in Las Vegas, NV in a weekly monthly. Is my current medical issue enough to work in my favor? Need to know asap. I only have until next week to solve this.

Sorry... you are overdue... they are entitled to their money.. the pay or quit means they get everything owed in 5 days or they initiate eviction proceedings...

Sorry you have these personal issues... but they own the property and they are legally entitled to be paid for it on time.

If you have no money to pay them... you won't have money to fight it. Even if you did you would use... your reason isn't grounds for not paying what you owe on time.

You have no friends that can loan you the money?

Being disabled, widowed, infants - nothing matters when it comes to rent.
What have you tried to get in the way of help so far?
The landlord has to start with a 5 day notice in case you don't pay, but if you get some money on the 25th, make sure you talk with them and be clear about whether that means you can stay.
Some landlords will stop the process, and some won't.
What is a weekly monthly?

The 5 day pay or quit is the first step. If you don't pay, they file for an eviction order. This involves a hearing, the 25th is within the 5 days so you should be able to give them an answer before they have to go for an eviction order.

That's two days from now.

• If they agree to pay your claim, there are outfits which advertize that they will loan you money based upon an anticipated lawsuit settlement. I cannot vouch for them, but you might want to investigate that option.
• If they refuse your claim outright, it will be tougher.
