    Creditors calling at work
Is there anything I can do if I have already instructed a company not to contact me at work and they do anyway?

Have your lawyer mail a letter, or contact creditor and make arrangements for payments at a reduced amount. If you send something each month, you are trying. Just a $1.00 could do it.

    Hello Book:

Sure. You can stop 'em cold with a cease and desist letter. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are not allowed to contact you once you have informed them not to.

You need to write it in a letter, and send it certified, return receipt requested. Remind them that violation of the act calls for penalties of up to $1,000 per day. They'll stop calling. Of course, the only option left open to them is to sue, and they probably will.
