    First Period! HELP
So. I just got my period yesterday! I was having side pains and I went to the bathroom (sorry TMI) and I wiped and it was bloody. And I was at home, luckily my mom was there. I have a few questions. So most people "crave chocolate" and I'm not hungry at all! And then my period blood has a brown to it. I know that's because it's "old blood" but I never had my period before! So why am I getting a brownish color of blood? And my period is heavy today, than it was yesterday! Is that normal?

That all sounds normal. Have you asked your mom these questions?

Yes all normal for first times. Also you may find, that girls will differ, normal for one, is not normal for another.

The second day of your period is usually the heaviest day. That's completely normal. The brown blood is also normal.

You really should discuss this with your mother. I know that I wouldn't feel comfortable with my daughter asking a bunch of strangers online about her first period. Your mother knows you got it, so talk to her about it. She knows, she's also female. :)

Also, what you read as to what to expect is going to be hit and miss. Every woman and their period is different. You might crave chocolate, or dill pick chips. Just listen, learn, and talk with your mother. Just remember that she understands what you're going through and what it feels like to talk to your mother about your first period. She did it herself. She's your best asset.
