I recently got stopped shoplifting. I had for 300-400$ worth of clothing and a wallet on me. I was given a date to appear and fingerprints. I live in quebec. What happens in a case like this? They recuperated what was stolen on spot. This is my first offense. My paper says theft and possession on goods less than 5000$. I am extremely nervous. I am looking to change careers and I am just 26 I'm frightened of a criminal record. I have well learnt my lesson. What are my options. I got a lawer she says not to worry but I can't help it. Can somebody provide personal experience in a case like this what was the outcome?
