I have a JD X485 lawn tractor with 62 inch mower. Mower has had a problem raising and lowering for some time. In the past I could engage the lift and lift on the mower and it would fine for a while ( WEEKS OR MONTHS) now it has completely quit. Any ideas?

Look for leaks in lines to the cylinder, low hydro oil situation or something jamming the lift arms. Try JDParts at:
John Deere - Parts Catalog
and type in X485, click Find, hit the plus sign square, do the same at the plus sign square at Sectional Index. The lift cylinder is under Hydraulics and the lift linkage is under Mower Lift.
