My friend violated his three year probation felony on a dui he got probation for the duo and his po violated him but is not recommending prison which is the rest of his probation 18 months what do you think will happen... he has showed up to every check in and has paid some of the cost and has held both a job and stable place to live and passed all drug screenings.

That's up to the judge to decide... and they will take into consideration their entire record... and behaviour while on probation to decide.

If they have a clean record before... did everything as asked... and this was a one time problem, they will go easier than if they have a history of being in trouble. Meaning there is no cast in stone certain answer. Only what is more or less likely.
